Franklin (ASN: RA-46032325), United States Army, was held as a Prisoner of War after he was captured during the Korean War on 1 December 1950 and was held until his release on 5 August 1953 after the signing of the Armistice.  This armistice signed on July 27, 1953, formally ended the war in Korea.
